LAS VEGAS, NV — Smith & Wesson’s newest performance-focused pistol, the M&P Competitor HD, made its debut at SHOT Show 2026. Built for competitive shooters, this steel-frame 9mm pistol includes functional upgrades that support faster handling, improved control, and faster reloads.

Featuring a spiral-fluted five-inch barrel, the Competitor HD comes with slide lightning cuts and windows at the 12, 3, and 9 o’clock positions. These features not only reduce slide weight but also aid in faster cycling and improved balance.

The pistol retains the same tritium front sight and blacked-out U-notch rear as the standard Metal HD, while adding an installed magwell, reversible extended mag release, and two 17-round magazines.

The Competitor HD weighs approximately 35 ounces and offers machine texturing on the frame for consistent grip under pressure. Like its sibling model, it’s also optics-ready and designed for maximum adaptability .

Designed with performance in mind, this new release helps competitive shooters and enthusiasts alike maximize control, speed, and comfort in one cohesive package.
