United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent allegedly threatened to punch Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte “in the f***ing face” during a private dinner. The show is on full display, and there’s plenty of bread and circuses to go around.

The alleged exchange, which is being reported by several media outlets, took place last week at the Executive Branch club in Washington, DC, a private club co-founded by Donald Trump Jr., during a dinner hosted for podcaster Chamath Palihapitiya’s birthday. Bessent reportedly launched a profanity-laced tirade at Pulte, whom he believed was badmouthing him to U.S. President Donald Trump.  This club is “MAGA-themed.”

The confrontation was reportedly defused by a club co-owner and ended with the two being seated apart, according to a report by Talking Points Memo.

Bessent allegedly shouted, “Why the f* are you talking to the president about me? F* you,” before threatening to “punch” Pulte in his “f***ing face,” RT reported, citing eyewitness accounts.

Co-owner Omeed Malik attempted to intervene in the altercation, prompting this memorable exchange:

“It’s either me or him,” Bessent said to Malik. “You tell me who’s getting the fuck out of here.”

“Or,” he added, “we could go outside.”

“To do what?” asked Pulte. “To talk?”

“No,” Bessent replied. “I’m going to f**king beat your ass.” -Politico

No physical tussle took place, and the two were separated for the remainder of the event.

Bessent and Pulte have also been on opposite sides of the debate over whether Trump should remove Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. According to earlier media reports, Bessent privately warned against such a move, arguing that it could “destabilize” financial markets. Pulte, on the other hand,  has urged Powell to resign and drafted a suggested termination letter for Trump.

This is not the first time Bessent has lost his cool. Back in April, he and Elon Musk got in a heated shouting match over who should be in control of the Internal Revenue Service. In other words, they yelled at each other over who gets to steal from American citizens. The incident reportedly unfolded in the West Wing within earshot of President Donald Trump and visiting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
