Israel has decided to ratify the ceasefire agreement laid out by Donald Trump. This plan supposedly made it past phase one of the deal; however, Israel seeks only a partial withdrawal from Gaza and wants a different but complete hostage exchange plan.

First Step Of Trump’s “Peace Plan” Has Been Accepted By Both Hamas and Israel

“I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan,” Donald Trump said, calling the decisions the “first steps towards a strong, durable, and everlasting peace.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced on Friday that the Israeli cabinet had approved an “outline” of the deal to release all hostages, both living and dead. Israel says that 48 hostages remain in Gaza, and only 20 of those are still alive.

The most recent peace plan, unveiled by United States ruler Donald Trump in late September, gives the Israeli military 24 hours to pull back its forces to an agreed line, leaving Israel in control of around 53% of the enclave. Hamas is then to release all hostages within 72 hours, while Israel will free 250 Palestinians serving life sentences and 1,700 Gazans detained since 2023.

The broader 20-point ceasefire framework calls for a phased but full withdrawal of Israel from Gaza, the disarmament of Hamas, and the establishment of a transitional international administration.

Donald Trump: “Hamas…Will Pay In Hell” If They Don’t Agree to Ceasefire Terms

According to a report by Natural News, the ceasefire talks have now stalled, as Hamas insists on the release of high-profile Palestinian prisoners (including Marwan Barghouti, Ahmad Saadat, and Abdullah Barghouti) and a complete Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza, conditions Tel Aviv rejects.

Hamas has criticized Israel’s “hand-drawn” withdrawal map as vague and unacceptable, while Israeli officials refuse to concede on full retreat.

RT earlier reported that both sides do appear to be closer to a peace deal than they have been in months. It still isn’t clear who will control the Gaza civilians once a deal is reached and what will become of the reconstruction efforts.

As these peace efforts stall, more concessions will be denied, as criticism of Israel’s stance on refusing to commit to a full retreat.
