This incident highlights a situation many homeowners fear. When someone forces entry into a home while making threats of violence, it can quickly become a life-threatening encounter. In those moments, individuals may be forced to make immediate decisions to protect themselves or others from serious harm.

The Second Amendment affirms the fundamental right of Americans to protect themselves and their families in moments exactly like this one. When law enforcement cannot arrive in time, a lawfully armed homeowner may be the only line of defense between a credible threat and a tragedy.
