So much for the Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE’s efforts to cut government spending. It looks like the Trump administration will instead take any savings and apply it to war efforts, increasing the defense budget to $1 trillion.

Trump announced the massive spending budget during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday. “We are very cost-conscious, but the military is something that we have to build, and we have to be strong because you have a lot of bad forces out there now,” Trump said. “Nobody’s seen anything like it.”

Perhaps if the U.S. would mind its own business and stay out of the war-for-profit model, we wouldn’t need such a massive “defense” budget. Trump has already made it clear he intends to expand the U.S. empire and use military force if necessary. Could that be the reason for the war spending?

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stressed that “we intend to spend every taxpayer dollar wisely – on lethality and readiness.” It’s all simply war against others until the “lethal” and “ready” military decides its own civilians are the problem.

A State of Martial Law: America Is a Military Dictatorship Disguised as a Democracy

In contrast to both Trump and Austin, in February the Pentagon proposed cutting spending by 8% but prioritizing expenditure on technologies such as drones, submarines, and defense operations at the US-Mexico border and operations related to deterring China.

The current US Defense Department budget is $895.2 billion. Despite the vast sums allocated to defense, the Pentagon has failed to pass an audit for seven consecutive years since the procedure was established. –RT

War is and will likely always be the U.S.’s first priority. This expansion of military ferocity feels like an intentional almost warning that the ruling class is gearing up for another massive war. Hopefully, my assessment is wrong. What do you think? Do you think the U.S. is looking to expand wars or enter in something horrific? Or is this “just defense” spending?
