I’ve been a fan of Chris Ramsay’s puzzle videos for years. They’ve always been something I throw on when I want to disconnect, unwind, or even fall asleep to something chill. So when I saw he released a new puzzle box in collaboration with WESN — and it included a knife — I figured it’d be something fun to check out.

The box is the WESN x 1ST Magic Puzzle Box, and right out of the packaging, you can tell it’s a premium piece. It’s solid, heavy, and precision-machined from brass and aluminum. The combination gives it a weighty, high-end feel in the hand — not just some novelty, but something you could leave on your desk as both a display piece and a tactile challenge. And since the brass is raw, it’ll naturally patina over time, adding a unique character the more it’s handled.

Inside the box is a reimagined version of WESN’s bestselling Microblade — a compact folding knife with a skeletonized handle made of raw brass and titanium. Like the box, the knife has a clean, minimal aesthetic and feels just as refined. It’s small, sturdy, and definitely something I’ll keep on my desk to open packages and handle everyday tasks.

Now, about the “solve”…

I completely missed the final step.

There’s a set of hidden pins that you’re supposed to raise using magnetic tools included with the box. That’s the actual final move to unlock the lid. But I didn’t know that — I ended up solving it completely by accident. I just happened to shake and tilt the box the right way to get those pins to drop on their own… and the lid popped off.

Not once. Not twice. But three times.

Still counts? I’ll let you decide. Either way, it made for a fun unboxing and puzzle experience.

If you’re into puzzles, EDC knives, or just enjoy watching someone bumble their way through both, check out the video above for the full unboxing and my accidental solve. I had a good time with it — and even if I didn’t “earn” the solution, the craftsmanship alone made it worth picking up.
