GRAND BLANC, MI (2-minute read) — Authorities in Grand Blanc responded to a horrifying scene Sunday morning after multiple people were shot at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located on McCandlish Road. The incident was first reported just before 11 a.m., as parishioners were gathered for Sunday services.

According to police sources, six to eight individuals were struck by gunfire. The exact condition of the victims has not yet been disclosed. Emergency responders quickly flooded the area, with video from the scene showing heavy smoke rising from the church and numerous police and fire vehicles surrounding the property.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that the church building was on fire shortly after the shooting was reported. Investigators believe the shooter may have started the blaze, though that has not been officially confirmed.
