Concealed Nation is taking a rare extended vacation from December 24 through January 1, the longest pause in new content since launching in 2013. Regular coverage will resume January 2, with only truly major news possibly breaking through during the break.
EDITORIAL NOTICE (2 minute read) — For the first time since Concealed Nation started back in 2013, we are taking a real vacation and it is a long one for us. From December 24th through January 1st, we will be stepping away from daily publishing so the team can rest, reset and spend time with family and friends.
Over the years we have done our best to be a constant source of concealed carry and self defense stories. That nonstop pace has a cost, and after more than a decade it is clear that a short pause now will help us bring you better coverage later. During this vacation you should not expect the usual flow of new stories and daily updates.
Understanding where you can legally carry a firearm is essential for every responsible gun owner, especially when traveling. Our concealed carry reciprocity map gives you an instant, easy-to-read view of…

Understanding duty to inform laws is crucial for anyone who carries a concealed firearm, whether you carry with a permit or under permitless (constitutional) carry. These laws dictate when, how,…

When it comes to self-defense, where you’re standing matters. Some states give armed citizens clear Stand Your Ground protections , while others still follow traditional duty-to-retreat rules in public. On…

Understanding Castle Doctrine laws and the various castle doctrine states is essential for gun owners who want to know their legal rights when defending themselves at home, in an occupied…
If something truly major happens in the concealed carry or firearm world, we may still jump in and cover it. Outside of that, things will be quiet on the front page while we recharge. In the meantime you can dig into our archives, revisit training focused articles and refresh your knowledge on safe and responsible firearm ownership. There is always something new to learn or a lesson worth reviewing.
This is only a temporary break. On January 2nd we will be back to our normal routine with fresh stories, analysis and real world defensive use coverage. We appreciate your support more than we can say and we are grateful for a community that understands the value of stepping back for a moment so we can move forward stronger together.
Safety Tip: Use quiet periods like this holiday break to inspect your carry gear, confirm that holsters fully cover the trigger guard and verify that all firearms at home are stored securely and out of reach of unauthorized users.
